Aspire Marketing

Aspire LogoConceived in the fresh mountain air of Morillon, France in 2010, Aspire Marketing is a UK based specialist consultancy with over a decade of experience in sports marketing and PR. They are committed to delivering a first-class service, offering clients bespoke solutions at competitive rates.

I was lucky enough to know Aspire’s Managing Director, Layla Smith, from a previous company that we both worked at. When she decided to be brave and go it alone, I started to help out on some of her new projects and watched at her fledging company grew into a full blown marketing and PR agency.

Over time, our working relationship has developed to the point where I now work 12 hours a week for them, working across a number of their client accounts doing everything from blogging, e-communications, Facebook competitions and content management. Nice to be creating a buzz……

Sometimes only a cheesy strapline will do! But that wasn’t what was required when writing the package descriptions for some of Burt’s Bees new gift packs.

Centred on a philosophy that nature has the best answers, Burt’s Bees products are created using natural ingredients to help nourish and care for your skin. Each of their latest gift packs combined a collection of complementary products that required both a pack name and description. That’s where I came in.

Although the brief was quite straightforward in what was required, achieving the exact copy style wasn’t such a breeze! Burt’s Bees has a very disctinctive tone of voice that needs to be instilled across all content. It also needed to be signed off by the American HQ, where all branding and content style had orginated. Thankfully this was achieved and it was great to see the packs available online to buy with my copy next to it!

You can see some of the packages here. http://www.burtsbees.co.uk/natural-products/gifts-and-kits/

Spotted!

My partner was out for a cheeky post-work pint one afternoon last week and sent me these photos. It wasn’t because he was overwhelmed by the pubs great wine offer (although it is pretty good!), it was because he had spotted a strapline of mine on one of the pub’s posters being displayed both in the window and on the pavement. It was great to see something I had done on show but also nice to know that my partner recognised it as mine and was thoughtful enough to take some pictures for me for my portfolio!

motive8 Limited – Health & Fitness Newsletters

One of my first jobs when I moved down to London in 2008 was for a health and fitness company called motive8 in Hampton Hill, Middlesex – and I still do work for them today.

One of my core responsibilites is to produce their corporate newsletter, which showcases the 3 different segments of the business – Gym Design, Personal Training and Schools Coaching.

The aim of the newsletter is to highlight the key developments across each of the departments, offering clients the opportunity to see what is going on within other areas of the organisation that they might not yet have come into contact with.

Here are the last few I’ve done for them to give you an idea.
